Problem
Elements and/or annotations are not displaying in the drawing pane, but they do appear in the FlexTable.
Solution
If the drawing pane does not render correctly in any model, the issue could be due to video hardware drivers. In one case, "Intel Graphics 530" needed to be updated to version 22.20.16.4836 or greater. See the following wiki article: Updating video drivers and troubleshooting video hardware issues
If the problem is model-specific and does not appear to be a video card rendering issue, there are several possible solutions:
1. Enable Element Symbology element type and/or annotation display
To do this, go to the View menu, select Symbology, and make sure there is a check mark in the box next to the element and/or annotation.
2. Zoom Dependent Visibility
Disable Zoom Dependent Visibility for the element type.
To access this setting, open the Element Symbology dialog (View > Symbology), double-click the element type to open its properties dialog, then set the Zoom Dependent Visibility field "Enabled" to False.

3. Increase Symbol Size Multiplier (applies to CAD Display Style)
If the drawing style is set to CAD and the drawing pane is zoomed out too far, or the symbol size multiplier is too small then the element icon might not be visible. To increase the symbol size multiplier, open the Element Symbology dialog (View > Symbology), double-click on the element type to open its properties dialog, then increase the "Symbol Size Multiplier" value.
Element symbol and annotation text size is also controlled by the multiplier fields in the Options dialog. To access these settings, open the Options dialog (Tools menu > icon on the bottom-right of the tools section), and select the Drawing tab.
4. Set Display Style to GIS
The display style can be controlled globally or for each element type.
To control the Display Style globally, open the Element Symbology dialog (View > Symbology), click the Drawing Style icon, then select GIS Style.
To control the Display Style for an element type, double-click on an element type in the Element Symbology dialog to open the properties dialog, then set the Display Style to GIS.
5. Locate the element
Open the FlexTable for the element type, right-click on the element's row heading, and select "Zoom To".
6. Enable "Display Active Topology" and make sure the inactive topology color is not set to the same color as the background.
To access these settings, go to the Tools menu, select the icon on the bottom-right of the Tools section, and select the Global tab. This only applies if the element is inactive.

7. Refresh Drawing and enable Auto Refresh
To refresh the drawing, go to the View menu and click Refresh, or press F5.
To enable "Auto Refresh", go to the View menu, click the down arrow next to Refresh and select "Auto Refresh". A check mark will appear when it is enabled.
8. Refresh Element Symbology
To do this, go to the View menu, select "Symbology" and then click the "Refresh Element Symbology" icon as shown below. There are also options for Refreshing Annotations, Updating Annotation Offsets, and
Updating Annotation Heights if you need to perform one of those specific tasks.
9. Check element display color.
The color elements are displayed in can be controlled in two locations. Make sure neither of these are set to display the element in the same color as the background.
- Element Symbology properties
To open this, go to the View menu, select Symbology, then double-click on the element type in the Element Symbology dialog to open the properties dialog for that element type.
- Element Color Coding
Open the Element Symbology dialog by going to the View menu and selecting Symbology.
Click the + icon to the left of the element type to display the color coding. Double click on the color coding label to open the color coding properties dialog.

10. Compact Database and Synchronize Drawing
To do this, go to the File menu, select "Database Utilities", then select "Compact Database" and "Synchronize Drawing".
Select Yes in the respective warning dialogs.

11. Delete .DWH File
When a model is saved it should have an associated .DWH file, which contains information on how the model is rendered in the drawing pane. Close the model, locate this file, and delete it. Upon reopening the model the file will be regenerated.
Working in AutoCAD
If you see missing elements or annotations in the AutoCAD platform, it is possible that the elements are in a different layer. Combining layers or turning all layers on may display the missing items.
