Problem

When executing Network Navigator with the trace downstream query or when Validating the model, the following error or user notification appears:

 

Error executing query.

"Pump discharge link is inactive, not selected or does not exist."

Please run validation to find the elements causing the failure

Explanation

This message means that there is no conduit assigned to the pump downstream link property and it can occur in a few situations.

Steps to Resolve

  1. Make sure the pump has a conduit or pipe connected to the discharge and suction sides of the pump.
  2. Make sure the downstream link property is set for the pump.
