Introduction
With OpenFlows SewerOPS , wastewater and stormwater operators manage their collection systems using technology from SewerGEMS and OpenFlows FLOOD. Like WaterOPS, you will be able to apply live and historical SCADA data directly from your SCADA system. You will also be able to import your 2D model data from OpenFlows FLOOD to view the impact on flooding on your system. SewerOPS also includes the ability to use weather forecast data to get real-time and near-future impacts on the system.
SewerOPS introduces a streamlined user interface that includes the tools needed for operators to analyze and compute the stormwater and wastewater system. All modeling specific and other administrative tools are available as needed, located in the Administration tab of the ribbon interface.
With OpenFlow SewerOPS, the operator will be able to:
Analyze impacts to emergency responses
You will be able to quickly assess the impact of power outages to pumps in a pressure sewer system and determine the impact of blockages in pipes or conduits in the system.
Manage controls and control structures
You can apply adjustments to the status of pipes in the system, as well as existing control structures, enabling you to quickly assess the impact to the system.
Impact of overland flow and flooding
Using OpenFlows FLOOD model data, you can analyze when storm events exceed the capacity of the pipe and channel system to calculate the extent of overland flooding. The following link has details on how this works and how to view the results: Adding and viewing 2D results from OpenFlows FLOOD in SewerOPS.
Impact of historical or forecast rainfall events
SewerOPS works with historical rainfall events or forecast events. To include this information, go to Administration > Storm Data > Storm Data. You will have the option to add a rain file or forecast data by right-clicking on either of these and select New. Rain file events are text files available from a number of sources. The following link has information on this: Entering Known Rainfall Precipitation Data.
When you add a new forecast event, you will enter a latitude and longitude for the location you want to model. SewerOPS will add forecast rainfall data for that location.
Presentation
Powerful presentation options are available for SewerOPS. By using the Element symbology options, like annotations and color coding, you can quickly view the impact of events in the system, and graphing features that enable you assess how the model is operating against known data.
