How can I add labels (annotations) in the ArcGIS Pro platform?
First make sure the Add Joins to the model. Then open the Contents, right-click on the layer you want to include the labeling, then choose Labeling Properties. This will open the Label Properties.
As long as you have added joins, you will see the WaterGEMS or SewerGEMS element properties. Choose the label you want to add, then click Apply.
If the label doesn't appear, go to Contents again and right-click on the layer name. Choose Label, which should add the label to the drawing.
When labeling features in ArcGIS Pro, it only has access to the data in the intermediate geodatabase (as established by the "add joins" to the geotables). If you right click on a layer in the TOC and choose Attribute Table, you can see it only stores the values, without units. So, there would be no way for it to pick up on the units automatically (as of version 2026). If you know the unit is going to stay the same and never be changed, you could use the label expression to manually insert it. The following example shows how to manually insert the "gpm" unit for the calculated demand on junctions.
