How can I global edit / batch edit the properties of a set of elements or loads? For example setting the diameter of a selection set of pipes, or globally multiplying demands by a certain multiplier.
Most hydraulic properties can be globally edited from the respective FlexTable.
1) First, filter down to the elements you wish to globally edit by selecting them in drawing, double clicking a selection set or running a query (for example from Network Navigator). Note that you can also perform a filter directly within a FlexTable.
2) Open a filtered FlexTable by either right clicking in the drawing, choosing "Edit group" and selecting the respective FlexTable, or by right clicking on the respective FlexTable from the FlexTable manager and choosing "Open on Selection".
3) Once filtered, right click on the column header for the field you wish to globally edit and choose "Global Edit". Select the operator (such as Multiply), the value and click OK to perform the global edit on that set of elements.
Note: There is a Notes field in the FlexTables where you can enter additional information that may be pertinent to a model. The Global Edit feature is not available for this property. However, it is possible to copy and paste data to and from this field. You may be able to update the Notes field in an application like Excel and then paste it back into the FlexTable.
If you would like to globally edit specific elements / values in a FlexTable, you can do so without needing to first filter. Simply select the cells in the FlexTable, right click on one of them and choose Global Edit. Only the selected cells will be globally edited.
Element information can also be global edited in Alternatives. You can right click on a column header in the alternative to filter first, if needed. Then, right click on the field of interest and choose Global Edit.
In WaterCAD, WaterGEMS and HAMMER, demands can be globally edited in the Demand Control Center. Demands and loads are nested within a "collection" since you can have multiple demands/loads per node, so they cannot be directly global edited in the FlexTables.
In SewerGEMS, CivilStorm, StormCAD and SewerCAD, loads and inflows can be global edited in the Sanitary Load Control Center and Inflow Control Center, respectively.
