A draft stamp is a way to automatically mark output as a draft version. Draft stamps are commonly used to produce interim report pages when some data is still outstanding — the draft stamp prevents these preliminary reports from being mistaken as complete. The wording is completely user-definable: Draft, Preliminary, For Review Only, etc.

The draft stamp is placed as a watermark, underlaid as very light gray text in a diagonal across the report. This marks the output clearly, but does not obscure the text that prints over it:

The report can check for the presence of data indicating that a project, or an individual borehole, is in a draft state, and conditionally print the draft stamp on the report only when that is true.

For export to AutoCAD, the words “DRAFT” and “PRELIMINARY” are available as discrete graphics, outlined in two fonts (Arial and Times). These graphics will appear in the AutoCAD file with the desired shape, size and orientation, and the underlying text will show through the outline.
