Problem
MicroStation 8.5 freeze when installing. Corrupt Install Sheild
Solution
1) Freezes on the Install Shield 1st view
2) This usually signifies a corrupt Install Shield, follow these steps tocorrect this.
Go to this link http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&
FamilyID=4B6140F9-2D36-4977-8 FA1-6F8A0F5DCA8F download the InstMsiW.exe
In the \system32 directory rename the Msisip.dll to Msisip.old
Run the InstMsiW.exe This will re-install the Windows Install Shield installer
Reboot the system
You should now be able to install the MicroStation application
