Utilize a saved view for your thumbnail

Did you know you can tell MicroStation V8 what image to display as the thumbnail in the MicroStation Manager? Just create a saved view called PREVIEW and MicroStation will use it as the source view.

If you're going to use the title-block area of your drawing to do this, then make it a big more useable by disabling the display of the line weights and styles.

Shawn Foster adds: This also comes into play for your non-MicroStation users or your casual users in that Windows 2000/XP can display the thumbnail image in Windows Explorer. By saving your preview your other users can change their Explorer view to Thumbnail and see exactly what you want them to see outside of MicroStation.
