Watch those associative patterns!
When patterning an area with a cell and having the Associative Pattern button turned on, MicroStation creates a Shared Cell. If you delete this shared cell definition, MicroStation will not alert you that there is an instance of the cell in the file! This may cause you to inadvertantly nuke all your patterning without really knowing it. Thanks to Ivo Blaauw for posting this warning on CCM.
