Display element ranges

The set range command is used when you want to display the "range blocks" of the elements on your screen. An elements range block is the x-min, y-min, x-max and y-max extents of the elements.

You can use this keyin to help diagnose file problems ... for example, if you do a Fit View and the design does not fit properly. Or, when you do a fence command, and one element doesn't get manipulated. In such cases, it's probable that there may be an element with range blocks that are corrupt which often can be repaired using one of the following techniques: FIXRANGE.MA, FF= into a new file or EDG (on pre-V8 files).

Note that the set range keyin is a toggle. Key it in once to turn on the range blocks, and key it in again to turn them off. The results will be evident when you update the view. Either that or put this keyin on a function key: set range toggle;update all.

NOTE: In MicroStation V8 XM Edition, the range block is snappable. With thanks to Kirk Dunlap for pointing that out.
