How to deselect - clear - release a selection set

MicroStation V8i - Element Selection                                                                                                                                    (Input focus anywhere.)
- Enter a data point anywhere in the view, but not on an element.
- Key in choose none (better yet - put it on a function key.)

(Input focus in the tool settings window.)
- Press the ;
- Click the Clear button 
- Key in choose none


 

MicroStation V8 - Element Selection
(Input focus anywhere.)
- Enter a data point anywhere in the view, but not on an element.
- Key in choose none


MicroStation V8 - PowerSelector
(Input focus in the tool settings window.)
- Press the Spacebar
- Press the '
- Press the G
- Click the Clear button in the tool settings window
- Key in choose none


MicroStation V8 - PowerSelector
(Input focus elsewhere such as keyin window or AccuDraw.)
- CTRL + Click in the background of the view.
- Key in choose none


MicroStation XM - Element Selection
(Input focus at home.)
- Enter a data point anywhere in the view but not on an element.
- Press ;
- Click the Clear button in the tool settings window.
- Key in choose none.


MicroStation XM - Element Selection
(Input focus elsewhere, such as AccuDraw.)
- Enter a data point anywhere in the view but not on an element.
- Key in choose none
- Go home with ESC and use on of the methods noted above. ie: ESC+;


Note: The choose none keyin will work regardless of where the input focus is. As a result, some users prefer to put this keyin on a handy function key.
