Problem

Why is the Detail Callout symbol displaying in a white, solid line when it should be a red, dashed, heavy line weight?

Solution

The Detailing Symbol Styles dialog box reports the correct symbology, but the line code and color display incorrectly when it is placed because Level Overrides is turned on in View Attributes. The symbology for the detail callout level was overridden by color, line code and weight.  After turning Level Overrides off in View Attributes the callouts display correctly.

You could turn the level override off for just this particular level
