Overview
There are different cases why pump operating points are not calculated or displayed in the pump dashboards. For each case a message is displayed in the respective pump graph. Below the different messages that can be displayed:
- The pump is not configured. Setup pump
- The pump is off of the defined period
- There is no data for the defined period
- A request failed. Retry
The pump is not configured. Setup pump
Flow and Head operating points
This message is displayed if minimum required information for calculating the operating points is missing such as the flow or discharge pressure/level signal. Note that in case the flow is not available for each individual pump but only for the all pump station, then the pump status signal for each pump is also required as well as each pump curve. The signals need to be created in WaterSight under the Sensor Administration page, and then associated to the respective pump in the Pump Administration page.
Efficiency and Head operating points
Besides the flow and discharge pressure/level signals mentioned above, to calculate the efficiency VS head operating points it is also required to have the Power signal available. If the power signal is not available it is possible to estimate the efficiency operating points if the pump efficiency curve is provided. The signals need to be created in WaterSight under the Sensor Administration page, and then associated to the respective pump in the Pump Administration page.
Variable Speed Pumps
If pumps are variable speed, speed signal and full speed value are also required. The signals need to be created in WaterSight under the Sensor Administration page, and then associated to the respective pump in the Pump Administration page.

The pump is off for the defined period
This message is displayed whenever the pump is off for the defined duration, this means if the flow is zero or the status is off. The time duration can be defined under the "Manage series" button and the default is last week.
There is no data for the defined period
In this case all pump information should be configured but at least one of the required signals does not contain enough data for the defined period (typically flow, discharge pressure/level or signal status). The time duration can be defined under the "Manage series" button and the default is last week. To confirm this check for each one of the pump signals graphs, for the same defined period, if 15 minutes data is often available. It might happen that 15 minute data is not typically available (for example if registration frequency is only every hour), or that some of the sensors are failing or do not transmit regular data (for example the pump status signal only transmitting information when the pump shuts off or turns on, which is insufficient).
A request failed. Retry
First of all, check if your internet connection is working. If it working then the issue might be related with one of the sensors assigned to the pumps not having data at all during the specified period:
- check for each individual sensor graph and confirm if 15 minutes data is available;
- check for each individual sensor graph and confirm there are no events covering all the specified period classified as meter failures. The periods with events classified as meter failures will be excluded and not considered for the pump calculations. If that period does not correspond to a real sensor failure, updating the category of the event(s) or deleting the event(s), should fix the issue.
