Warning Number 609 TEST: a test pressure is less than the required value.

Question:

When analyzing a model in AutoPIPE Vessel the following warning number was reported.

609    TEST: a test pressure is less than the required value.

Why and how to avoid it?

Answer:

This warning occurs when the test pressure specified by the user is lower than the minimum test pressure required by the selected design code.
During the analysis, AutoPIPE Vessel compares the user-defined test pressure against the code-calculated minimum required test pressure. If the entered value does not satisfy the code requirements, Warning 609 is generated.

Review the test pressure specified for the vessel and ensure it meets or exceeds the minimum value required by the applicable design code.

Avoidance:

  1. Accept the warning if a lower test pressure is permitted by the project specification or client requirements.
  2. Remove the user-defined test pressure and allow AutoPIPE Vessel to automatically calculate the required test pressure according to the selected design code.
