Warning Number 127 CHECKING DATA : Compartment number > 3.

Question:

When analyzing a model in AutoPIPE Vessel the following warning number was reported.

127    CHECKING DATA : Compartment number > 3.

Why and how to avoid it?

Answer:

Scenario 1:
This warning typically occurs when one or more shell components are incorrectly defined as non-pressure-bearing components.
In AutoPIPE Vessel, a shell that is not marked as Pressure Bearing is treated as a dummy shell. Dummy shells do not form part of the vessel pressure boundary. Consequently, AutoPIPE Vessel splits the model into separate pressure chambers (compartments).

For example, if any shell components are configured as non-pressure-bearing, APV may interpret the vessel as containing additional chambers, which can trigger Warning 127.

Avoidance:

Verify the geometry properties for all components in the model.

Steps

      1. Open the Component Properties dialog for the affected components.
      2. Navigate to the Component Data tab.
      3. Locate the Pressure Bearing checkbox under the Design Data section.
      4. Enable Pressure Bearing for any shell that should be part of the pressure boundary.
      5. Re-run the analysis.
