Answer:

AutoPIPE Vessel imposes a limit on the number of data points that can be entered for a User Defined Site-Specific Spectrum.

Maximum Allowed Rows

AutoPIPE Vessel allows a maximum of 50 rows for defining a site-specific response spectrum.

Therefore:

      • ✅ Up to 50 rows can be entered.
      • ❌ More than 50 rows cannot be entered.

Why is the Limit 50 Rows?

A response spectrum is typically defined by a limited number of key points that describe the overall shape of the curve. In practice, 50 points are generally sufficient to accurately represent a seismic spectrum for analysis purposes.

Large datasets containing hundreds of points often include many intermediate values that do not significantly change the shape of the spectrum.

Workaround

Currently, there is no workaround available within AutoPIPE Vessel to increase the maximum number of spectrum data points beyond 50 rows.
If the source spectrum contains more than 50 points, the spectrum must be reduced to 50 representative points or fewer before it can be entered into AutoPIPE Vessel.

Steps

    1. Review the original site-specific spectrum data.
    2. Identify key points that define the spectrum shape, including:
      • Peak values
      • Changes in slope
      • Critical transition regions
    3. Reduce the dataset to 50 points or less.
    4. Enter the reduced spectrum data into the User Defined Site-Specific Spectrum table.
