How can a nozzle mounted directly on a Tubesheet be modeled in AutoPIPE Vessel?
Is there a workaround to evaluate the nozzle?
Answer:
A nozzle can be modeled on a Tubesheet in AutoPIPE Vessel. However, nozzle calculations for nozzles attached directly to a Tubesheet are currently not supported.
When the model is analyzed, AutoPIPE Vessel generates the following error message:
315 NOZZLE : type of shell not compatible (05[21]), revise location
This occurs because the nozzle calculation routines are not compatible with Tubesheet shell types.
Workaround:
Use Component Design to evaluate:
- The nozzle neck as a cylindrical shell.
- The flange attached to the nozzle.
