How is the modulus of elasticity determined in APV for external pressure as per EN 13445-3?

Question:

Can you explain how AutoPIPE Vessel evaluates the modulus of elasticity in external pressure calculations according to EN 13445-3?
Why modulus of elasticity value is not being calculated as per Appendix O as referred in EN 13445-3 clause 8.5.2.2.

Answer:

According to EN 13445-3 clause 8.5.2.2, modulus of elasticity should be calculated as per Appendix O.
Appendix O provides polynomial expressions to calculate temperature-dependent material properties, including the modulus of elasticity.

Modulus of elasticity come from Material Data Base:

The values have been calculated using the equation O.4-1 with Table O-2, Material = Steel Group 1 to 4, 5.1 and 5.2, and rounded as shown below:

Z = C0 +C1T+C2 T^2

Where

Z = 202.38 rounded to 202 MPa
