Overview
For the Alerts module there is an option called Vibration Alerts which is specific for any type of Vibration device you have in the system. The Vibration alert gives you the possiblity to monitor vibration data with different preset standards in the system or with custom linear or polynomial standards. It can give you the option of multiple different alert thresholds and priorities.
This type of alert is very useful for monitoring vibration data.
You start with creating a Vibration Alert from the Alert module itself by creating an alert and choosing the Vibration option.
Once you have clicked that option you will be presented with the configuration page for the Vibration alert you are creating. On this page you can select your Vibration device that you want to monitor, create alert rules and configure how the alert trigger is handled.
For this alert configuration page you have multiple different parameters.
Priority: This is the priority of the alert and will behave the same way as other alerts.
Add Device: This will allow you to select the Vibration device that you want to monitor
Time Zone: This is the timezone that will be presented in the email sent to users.
Rules: This is to add your alert trigger rules, you can have multiple rules.
Trigger criteria: This is to set whether all alert rules or just one alert rule need to be met for the alert to trigger.
Trigger frequency:
Once(Default): Alert triggers only once after sensor triggers alert rule
Continuous: Alert triggers continuously until the alert goes to normal state
When creating a Vibration Alert rule you can configure the following parameters with the rule you are creating highlighted in your alarm threshold colour and other rules highlighted in grey.
Type: This is an option that allows you to either select a predefined list of vibration alert standards for your threshold or to configure a linear or quadratic threshold.
Guideline: If you have chosen the Standards type then you can choose between the pre-defined guidelines in the system.
Evaluation Type: If you have chosen the Standards type then you can choose a pre-defined evaluation type in the system.
Percentage: This is to scale the threshold. 100% is normal threshold. Anything above 100% is a higher threshold and below it is a lower threshold
Peak particle velocity units: This is to choose your units for the vibration alert
Alerts Actions: Clicking the "Add new action" icon will open a window with dropdown with five configureable action options that will automatically be completed when an alert triggers. The list below outlines the five action options.
Emails(Sharing): Alerts, by default, will only send emails to the user that created the alert. If you would like to enable emails to be sent to other users you can click on the Sharing Settings and select each user that you would like to receive an email. Emails can be toggled on or off by clicking the envelope next to each users name.
Once an alert has been created, you can now navigate back to the alert configuration page to edit the users that are shared with this alert. To do this, alert summary card and select the edit icon to open the edit configuration page.
At the bottom of the alert configuration page you will find the Sharing section. In this section you will be able to see if the alert is private or restricted, and what users have access to the alert. You can click on the "Sharing Settings" button to edit the shared users.
1. Private Sharing - By default all alerts are set to private until they are shared, when an alert is private it is only visible to the original creator of the alert profile.
2. Restricted - By selecting Restricted, you can choose the users that you would like to have access to the alert by using the search bar.
3. Project wide - Project wide will give all users on the project access to the alert.
3. Unchecking the box next to a user will remove their access to the alert.
4. Click the apply button to save your changes.
