E652-100 Unable to create report, too many modes.. message appears when using AutoPIPE

Question:

When using AutoPIPE to generate a report the following message appears:

Error

--------------------------------------------------

E652-100 Unable to create report, too many modes..

--------------------------------------------------

Ok

Why and how to avoid?

Answer:

The clue to resolving this issue is based on the message itself "too many modes". This would be directly related to number of modes generated from performing a modal analysis. AutoPIPE has a threshold for the number of modes that can be printed in a report by one model. Once the threshold is reached the above message is given.

How to get avoid this message?

There are 3 suggestions to avoiding this message.

      1. Change the modal analysis settings such to the program calculates fewer modes
      2. Change the number of mass points per span to use fewer points.
      3. Remove part of the model such that fewer modes are calculated. First, consider analyzing disconnected piping in separate models. Or break the model into a smaller system at full anchor node points.

One or more of these suggestions should lower the total number of modes calculated such that a report can be printed.
