This issue occurs when the wear plate height is defined as a negative value or when the geometric conditions required for considering the wear plate in local load calculations are not satisfied.
In the example shown below, the wear plate height is defined as –130 mm, which prevents the wear plate from being included in the local load evaluation.
Wear plate height must be positive to be considered.
For AutoPIPE Vessel to include the wear plate in local load calculations, all the following conditions must be met:

- Wear plate thickness > 0
- Wear plate extension (E) > 0
- Wear plate height (H) must be positive
- Half of the wear plate height > extension
- Half of the wear plate width > extension
- Example: If pad width = 150 mm, then height must be > 300 mm
If any of these conditions are not met, the wear plate will be ignored in the local load calculations.
