Connection Overview
Clicking on a connection in the Explorer Resource Management tree navigates users to the Connection Overview page – a new page giving users several tabs to utilize based on each connection capabilities.
Breadcrumbs are located at the top left of the page. They show your current location and allow you to quickly navigate to related pages.
For connections, the breadcrumb path is displayed as Asset Name > Connection Name
A copy button is available on the right of the breadcrumb, allowing you to copy the ID of the selected device for use in search and other actions within the product.
The delete connection button is located at the top right of the page, above the tabs. This allows you to delete the currently selected connection and all associated devices and sensors.
The same action is available via the context menu by right clicking the connection in the tree and selecting Delete.
The overview tab is the first and default tab displayed to users when accessing this page. This tab contains a static dashboard which has 2 types of cards displayed – Summary and Device Sensor Summary.
The number of Device Sensor Summary cards depends on how many devices are associated with the connection.
The summary card provides device specific details:
Entity Type – the type of entity you have selected.
Connection Type – the type of connection you have selected – includes both raw and friendly names.
ID – the ID of the connection you have selected. This field can be copied using the copy button – a useful feature when using search capabilities within the product.
Status – the status of the connection you have selected.
The device sensor summary card lists all sensors associated with the device. Each sensor is clickable and navigates you to the sensor’s respective details page.
Each sensor row in the card contains the following sensor data:
Sensor name – name of this sensor.
Metric name – name of the default metric for this sensor.
Latest observation value and Unit – latest value of this sensor along with its unit of measurement.
Last observation time – last timestamp of when this sensor received an observation.
