Question:
What is the significance of this warning when it appears in my AutoPIPE Vessel report:
385 BUNDLE: the SID for the bundle calculation is different from the diameter imposed by the geometry (SID=296 mm , Diam.=323.8 mm , Thk.=12.7 mm).
SID = "Shell Inside Diameter"
Answer:
While using AutoPIPE Vessel, open the "Tube Bundle Properties" dialog:
After pressing the Compute button, AutoPIPE Vessel automatically calculates the SID value based on input from this dialog.
Next open the Component Properties dialog,
Manually calculate the SID based on input from this dialog.
Example:
DN 300 (==> Dext = 323.8 mm) (User input)
Thickness 12.7 (User input)
Tube bundle Properties dialog calculated SID = 296 mm
Component Properties dialog calculated SID = 323.8 - 2*12.7 = 298.4 mm
The warning message informs the user of a difference between this Tube bundle dialog calculated SID value and a SID value calculated using the Component Property input values.
