Background

In OpenPlant Modeler, users may be required to deliver flat, editable 2D DWG isometric drawings to project stakeholders. However, direct DWG exports from existing isometrics often result in 3D DWG files or incomplete outputs, making editing difficult. This article explains the recommended workflow to generate editable 2D outputs without re-running the entire isometric generation process.

Steps to Accomplish

1. Open Isometric styler and check the desired Export formats.

2. Generate the isometrics.

3. Open the existing parent 3D isometric (DGN) generated using Iso Manager.

4. Make required changes in the parent isometric, such as moving or deleting labels and annotations.

5. Once edits are complete, select “Republish” or “Republish All” from the isometric tools.

6. This updates all associated slave outputs, including exported 2D isometric files.

7. Verify that the updated 2D isometric reflects the changes.
