2D CAD viewing and markup

2D CAD viewing and markup is now available, supporting DWG, DXF, MS & DGN files for faster, more efficient design reviews

We’re excited to introduce CAD Viewing and Markup, allowing teams to open, review, and annotate industry-standard CAD files directly without the need for file conversions or external tools.

This new capability helps create a consistent review experience across design and construction workflows.

New Feature: CAD Viewing & Markup

View detailed drawings and add markups, comments, and annotations using the same tools available for PDFs.

This enables faster reviews, clearer communication, and improved collaboration.

Supported File Formats

CAD viewing and markup is now available for DWG, DXF, MS & DGN file formats.

Markup Tools for CAD Files

Standard markup tools are now supported for CAD files, including text notes, callouts, shapes, clouds, highlights, freehand drawing, and scale-based measurements. Markups remain accurately positioned across zoom levels and drawing scales.

Key Benefits

• No need to convert CAD files to PDF for review
• Speed up design and markup workflows
• Improve collaboration between project teams

Other Notes:

- if a CAD file has layers, they can be toggled on and off for visibility

- functionality is purely for viewing the file, no metadata associated/no reference file connection at this point

-There is a print to PDF option

-It does not convert the native file, converts the file to a proprietary format, not a PDF.

-If a PDF version is downloaded/uploaded back and named the exact same as the DGN file. The markups will be placed on the same XFDF file.
