AutoPIPE - How to Create an Offline Installation Package for AutoPIPE Vessel

AutoPIPE Vessel is designed to support installation in a variety of system environments, including scenarios where internet access is restricted or unavailable.

This article explains how to create an offline (local layout) installation package for AutoPIPE Vessel and use it to install the software on another computer that does not have internet connection during installation.

Step 1: Download the AutoPIPE Vessel Setup Program

Download the appropriate AutoPIPE Vessel setup executable (bootstrapper) for the version to be installed remotely (see video here)
Copy the downloaded executable to the folder that will be used as the source location for the local layout.

Notes:

1. An internet connection is required to complete this step.
2. The setup executable is the same file used to create, update, or modify an AutoPIPE Vessel installation.

Step 2: Create a Local Layout Using the Command Line

Open a Command Prompt with Administrator privileges.
Navigate to the folder containing the downloaded setup executable.
Run the setup executable with the /layout parameter to download all required installation files.

Example command:

Setup_AutoPipeVesselx64_47.00.02.051.exe /layout

This command downloads all necessary installation components creating a complete local installation layout.

Notes:

1. An internet connection is required while the layout files are being downloaded.
2. Once the process is complete, the installation files can be copied or moved to any other machine or network location for offline installation.
3. Default folder location: C:\BentleyDownloads\AutoPIPE Vessel 20xx.

Step 3: Install AutoPIPE Vessel from the Local Layout

To install AutoPIPE Vessel using the offline layout:

Copy / Move AutoPIPE's installation files from step 2 above, onto the target computer were AutoPIPE Vessel will be installed remotely.
On the target computer, navigate to the folder containing the installation file.
Run the setup executable (ex. Setup_AutoPipeVesselx64_47.00.02.051.exe) to start the installation process.
Perform actions on the installer dialogs as needed.

Notes:

1. When installing from the target computer, AutoPIPE Vessel's installer uses the locally available files and does not require an internet connection.
