Warning message: The synchronization performance of this IFC model is being significantly impacted by updates to a large number of views. Please contact Bentley Support as there is a setting which can disable the update of the views to improve the performance.

Issue:

Synchronization performance is significantly degraded because the connector is updating a large number of views generated from the IFC model.

Cause:

The IFC model contains many views or view-related definitions (e.g., drawing views, saved views, or similar constructs) that are being processed and updated. The default configuration allows view updates, which can be expensive for complex or highly detailed models.

Solution:

1. Assess whether view updates from the IFC model are critical to your workflow.
2. If performance is more important than maintaining these view updates:
   • Contact Bentley Support and reference Ifc_0031.
   • Request information about the configuration setting that disables view updates during IFC synchronization.
3. If possible, reduce the number or complexity of views in the source IFC file before export (e.g., remove unused or test views).
4. Re‑run synchronization after either:
   • Simplifying the views
   • Applying the configuration to disable view updates
