Purpose

This guide will walk you through the process of assigning a Virtuoso license for a specific product to a user on the Bentley Admin portal (manage.bentley.com). There are multiple ways to assign the license: via a Product detail page and from the Users table or user profile page.  This new experience is in limited availability and further users will be given access as functionality is extended. If you do not have access to manage.bentley.com please refer to the User and Entitlement Management documentation. 

 

Prerequisites

You must be an admin user with the permission to assign licenses and there must be available unassigned Virtuoso licenses.

 

Steps-by-Step Instructions

1. Select a User

From the Users table find the user(s) you wish to assign licenses, then select Actions > Assign license. Alternatively, navigate to the Profile page by selecting the user's name in the Users table. Select the Assigned licenses tab in the second section – you will see all products which licenses are assigned to the user. 

 

2. Click on the Assign license button at the top right corner of the section – you will see the list of available products and the section of selected licenses on the right.

 

3. Click on the selected product – you will see the list of available licenses.

4. Select the license from the list – once you tick the checkbox, the license will appear on the selected licenses section on the right, and the Assign button will be enabled.

 

5. Click on the Assign button – the progress message will appear, and the conformation message will confirm that license is assigned. 

 

6. To confirm the license has been assigned to the user, view the list of assigned licenses on the user's profile page.

Expected Results

The license is now assigned to the user and they are entitled to use the product.
