Background
In PlantSight, the user needs to choose the best iTwin/PlantSight hosting region for distributed workshare across multiple global locations. This article suggests a recommended approach to help select the most suitable region, as described below:
Steps to Accomplish
1. Visit PlantSight and navigate to Project Creation.
2. Under Data Center Location, review the available hosting regions:
· North Europe
· Central India
· Canada Central
· UK South
· UAE North
· Australia East
· Southeast Asia
· West Europe
· East US
3. Run the Azure Latency Test from each location’s official network:
https://www.azurespeed.com/Azure/Latency
Compare the average latency results across candidate regions.
4. Model-Based Validation: Host a large, representative model in two or three shortlisted regions.
5. Measure time-to-stream graphics for typical participants to validate performance.
6. Select the region that provides:
· Lowest average latency
· Acceptable streaming performance for most users
