Question:
When analysing a model in AutoPIPE Vessel the following warning number was reported.
64 FLANGE (nozzle XX): Rating, material group not specified in material database file
Why do these warnings appear and how can they be avoided?
Answer
These warnings occur when the selected material for a flange is not present in the customizable file: StandardFlangeReferenceTable.xlsx.
If you believe the material is valid and available in the design code but missing from the customizable file, you can update the file to include the material. Once updated, these warnings will no longer appear.
Steps to Add the Material
- Open Customizable File Management
Navigate to:Execute > Manage Customization Files
In the dialog box:
- Click Choose File to edit the file.
- After editing, click Move to Production to apply changes.

- Locate the Config Folder
After clicking Choose File, you will be directed to the config folder:C:\Users\Public\Bentley\AutoPIPE Vessel\AutoPIPE_Vessel_46\Config
- Edit the Customizable File
Open the file:StandardFlangeReferenceTable.xlsx
- Add the Required Material
Insert the material details you want to use in your model and save the file.
- Move to Production
After editing the file, check Move to Production in AutoPIPE Vessel.
This ensures the edited file is used instead of the older version.
Summary
By updating the StandardFlangeReferenceTable.xlsx file with the missing material information and moving it to production, you can eliminate warning 64 during model analysis.
