Problem:

How do you use the regression tools in OpenRoads Designer to regress a roadway centerline on a road alignment with no transition spirals?

Solution:

To create a roadway centerline by regressing through surveyed point data, you will use 3 tools:

1.) Create Regression Line tool (in the OpenRoads Modeling>Geometry>Regression ribbon) to select and order all the points that will be used in the regression analysis.

2.) Single Horizontal Regression tool (in the OpenRoads Modeling>Geometry>Regression ribbon) to create the tangent and curve elements

3.) Geometry Connector tool (in the OpenRoads Modeling>Geometry>Horizontal ribbon) to connect the lines and arcs into a single complex alignment.
