The Graphs portion of the Data module allows you to graph sensor data on a time-series plot. Below is an example of a single sensor time-series graph, with the selected metric value on the y-axis and the x-axis representing the time the data was collected. This article will provide you with a guide to setting up a graph.
After completing the steps above, you will be on the Graph profiles page, as shown below. This page allows you to not only create new graph profiles but also view all the profiles created by or shared with you.
1. To create a new Graph profile, click the blue "+ Graph profile button. This will take you to the Graph profile configuration and visualization page.
2. Graph Profile Name- Clicking the pencil icon on the upper left of the screen opens a window allowing you to change the name of the graph profile. The name can also be changed at any time after creating the profile.
3. Adding Sensors- A new profile will allow you to add sensors via the blue "+ sensor" icon in the middle of the screen. After clicking the icon, a window will open allowing you to select sensors from the asset, as shown in the image below. Click sensors on the left "Available sensors" window to move them to the right "Selected sensors" window so they will show up on the graph. Click done to close the window and continue configuration of the graphs.
You can also add or remove sensors at any point by clicking the "Sensors" button on the upper right of the screen, then clicking the "Manage sensors" icon in the dropdown box.
Once a sensor or multiple sensors have been selected in the step above, the screen will change to a preconfigured graph of the sensor or sensors with a default metric and metric unit selected. The graph example below is a temperature sensor graph with the default metric of Temperature displayed in degrees Fahrenheit.
4. Metric and Metric Unit Selection- To change the metric or metric unit displayed, access the dropdown by clicking the metric name.
Note: A list of metric definitions can be found here. Certain Metrics will contain Calculation Parameters that affect the way the metric is calculated. Parameters configured here will override any settings that are already set in the sensor configuration page, and apply only to this graph profile.
5. Save- Clicking the blue "Save" button on the upper right side of the screen will save your created and configured graph profile.
The next article in this series will cover the many additional configuration options for the Time-series graph profiles.
