Introduction

Consolidation testing is conducted by many engineers to determine stress-strain relationships. Consolidation occurs when a soil is subject to loading, leading to changes in the volume of the soil-pores over a period of time following the initial loading of the soil (Balasubramaniam and Brenner, 1981).

The objective of this example is to simulate the conventional consolidation process using SEEP/W.
