The Geokon Agent API connection allows users to bring data from their logger nodes and vibrating wire sensors in Geokon Agent into the iTwin IoT software for visualization. This article will guide you in establishing the connection between the Geokon software and iTwin IoT and enabling logger nodes within iTwin IoT to pull data into the selected project.
We will begin by adding the connection to iTwin IoT via API key from https://api.geokon.com. If this is not already setup and configured, complete this setup before proceeding. Secure the API key from the Geokon API site to input in iTwin IoT for the connection.
1. Begin by navigating to the iTwin IoT asset you would like to add the Geokon connection and logger nodes to, and go to the Connectivity page.
2. Click the "+ Connection" button.
3. On the Configure New Connection page, select Geokon from the left sidebar.
4. Select the second Geokon option on the right side with the Geokon logo.
5. Input the API token retrieved previously from the Geokon API site. Click the blue "Next" button to advance to the next page.
6. The next page allows you to select the Logger node you would like to add to the asset. Click the blue "Apply" button. You will then be directed back to the Connectivity Page.
You can select one Logger node per connection addition. If you need to add more than one node to a single project, repeat the above steps.
The next step is to turn on the device nodes that you want to display on this asset. This device node configuration will be a toggle selection of the loggers associated with the previously-selected connected device node.
1. From the Connectivity page, click on the Geokon device node connection on the left side of the page.
2. Click on the "Edit Configuration" button on the left side.
3. In the "Edit Configuration" window you will see a list of device node with toggles. Click the toggles to turn them on so they will be added to this asset. When completed, click "Apply" at the bottom of the screen. You will then be navigated back to the main Connectivity page, where the toggled devices will begin populating on the "Devices & Sensors" side of the page. The sensors associated with each device will automatically be populated under the device or devices.
