Overview

The bar annotations, including leaders and texts, can be controlled majority using the 2D Rebar Display parameters contained in the display.sys file. Aside from the available parameters, these are also factors to consider.

1. Text Defaults - Most bar label texts can be customized using this tool. This can be found under ProConcrete > Drawing Production > Rebar Defaults.

2. Inherit properties from 3D rebar level - this option allows the user to adapt the 3D rebar level properties into the bar annotation properties, such as weight and color of delimiters and bar labels.

These customizations in these ways allow users to get their requirements easily. 

However, some users wanted to adapt from the properties of the default bar annotation level set in the Level Defaults dialog > Miscellaneous. These properties are the colors and weight from the Level Manager, such as PC_REBAR_Level 37. This can be done by setting the values of the 2D Rebar Display parameters to -1.

Steps to follow

1. Open the Display.sys file that is located at C:\ProgramData\Bentley\ProStructures 2024\Configuration\WorkSpaces\USA_Canada_Metric\Standards\ProStructures\Rebar\Detailing\Metric

NOTE – The above-mentioned path is the default location and may differ if you have installed the application in another folder path.

2. Look for the colour section of the display.sys file. It can be found around the middle section of the display.sys file.

3. Set the values of the 2D Rebar Display color parameters to -1. You may set the value to one parameter as required, given the information for each parameter. Or, you may set to all.

4. Once the changes are made, save the display.sys file.

5. Now start the ProStructures application (restart if the application was open while making the above changes).
