Starting with version 10.0.1.2948 of OpenGround Professional, inclined boreholes can be displayed on Quick Sections.
Boreholes are drawn based on data from the Orientation and Inclination group.
For details, see the Inclined Boreholes Guide, but in short:
Borehole | Description |
BH1 | Inclination = 90° → Drawn vertically down. |
BH2 | No orientation/inclination data → Defaulted to vertical down. |
BH3 | Orientation = 90°, Inclination = 30° → Drawn at an angle, roughly parallel to the section line. |
BH4 | Two entries (deviated borehole) → Only top record used: Orientation = 270°, Inclination = 10°. Drawn accordingly. |
BH5 | Inclination = -70° → Drawn upward (e.g., drilled in a tunnel or rock face). |
BH6 | Orientation = blank (defaults to 0°), Inclination = 30° → Since it's perpendicular to the section line, it appears vertical but shorter. (For comparison, BH6 has the same true length as BH1.) |
The visual angle of an inclined borehole in a Quick Section may appear less steep than expected. This is influenced by two main factors:
1. Vertical Scale Exaggeration
Most sections use a vertically exaggerated scale (e.g., 10× vertical vs. horizontal).
2.Orientation Relative to Section Line
