Problem:

The following Error message was shown in AutoPIPE when trying to generate the Results Grids:

---------------------------
Error
---------------------------
Results database file not found.
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

Why and how to resolve it.?

Solution:

Lets be sure there are no troubles with the installation by performing the following:

    1. Reboot the computer
    2. Sign into to Connection Client
    3. Open AutoPIPE
    4. Open Example Model: Walkthru.APC
    5. Press Analyze Static.
    6. Press Result Grid (Home > Results > Result Grid) command.

What happens, does the results grids appear:

Suggestion #1:

Perform general steps to display the results grids.

    1. Close Walkthru model.
    2. Open your affected model in AutoPIPE.
    3. Press Delete Analysis Results (Analysis > Delete > Analysis Results).
    4. Next, press Analyze All (Analysis > Analyze > Analyze All) command.
    5. Be sure one or more have been analyzed: Static analysis, Modal analysis, Dynamic analysis, Seismic Anchor Motion
    6. Finally press Result Grid (Home > Results > Result Grid) command.

AutoPIPE should take a little time to process before displaying the results grids.

Suggestion #2:

One or more model input setting is wrong.

Certain fields must have specific data or a certain format. However, in some instances users have found a way around programming checks/limits. Typical issues are with values in dialog field:

Review all data by opening a dialog, and using the keyboard tab key to tab through the entire dialog to the end. Be sure to check to see that each value is correct for the setting. If a message is displayed while tabbing through, fix the data entry and continue.

Example:

a. Open PipeID dialog, while tabbing through the dialog, the following error appeared : Error : E31-15: Zero or negative value is not allowed. User was able to enter a -ve value in a setting that does not allow it. After correctly entering the data, the results database can be viewed.

Suggestion #3:

File name and path name exceed length restriction.

The total path name and file name cannot exceed 249 character, and the number of characters in name cannot exceed 48. Try saving the file to 1.DAT on the desktop and processing the model from this location.

Suggestion #4:

Rigid properties incorrectly applied to the model.

Follow this procedure:

    1. Open model in AutoPIPE
    2. Select and delete all rigid properties in the model.
    3. Analyze the model and generate the results grids.
    4. If success full, the issue is with how rigid options were applied in the model. It may be necessary to delete parts of the model and reconstruct it in order to properly apply rigid options.

Suggestion #5:

There is a problem with one of the model's supporting files (ex. CMP, EIG, DB, lib, etc..)

    1. Close the model
    2. Open the model folder location
    3. Copy just the *.DAT file to a different folder location
    4. Try to repeat the issue.

Suggestion #6:

Round trip the model,  and then follow the Suggestion #1 again to see if this resolves the issue

If this resolved your issue, the comparison step in Round tripping the model would have indicated where changes were necessary to fix this issue

Suggestion #7:

If you have reached this point, there is a problem with the model that cannot be resolved by the suggestions above, then please log a new case and send your AutoPIPE APC model for review.

Question: how did the model become corrupted?

Answer: This is the unknown, we do not possess a crystal ball to examine all the steps the user made that resulted in a model's corruption. Could it have been related to:

Unless there is an exact set of steps to repeat an issue, the development team cannot fix the issue. Until such time when the issue can be addressed, the only tools we have are:
