Background

In OpenPlant Modeler, users can generate system isometric drawings for multiple pipelines. When those pipelines are physically connected, the software provides an option to combine them into a single system isometric sheet. This is especially useful for representing an entire connected piping system in one consolidated drawing.

Steps to Accomplish

To enable this functionality, a configuration variable must be added to the modeler.cfg file.

  1. Open the modeler.cfg file located in OpenPlant workspace configuration. Add the following line to enable multi-pipeline isometric generation:

  OPM_ALLOW_MULTI_PIPELINE_ISOSHEET = 1

            Save the file after making this change.

  1. Next, launch OpenPlant Modeler.
  2. Create multiple pipelines and ensure they are physically connected using valid components.

  3. Open the Pipeline Manager from the ribbon.
  4. Select all pipelines that are part of the connected system.

  5. Click the AutoGenerate IsoSheet button.

        A prompt will appear: "Do you want to create a single IsoSheet for all pipelines selected?"

  1. Click Yes to confirm that you want to generate a single system isometric sheet.

    8. Reselect the pipelines and click Generate ISO.

    9. Notice that a single Iso sheet has been generated.

    10. Open the generated isometric drawing to verify that all selected pipelines are included in a single sheet.
