GeoStudio Licensing Methods

Currently, GeoStudio has three licensing methods.

• Bentley SES - Available on GeoStudio 2022.1 (11.4.0) and later.
• FlexNet - Available on GeoStudio 2021 R2 (11.1.1) and later.
• Seequent ID - Available on GeoStudio 2021 R2 (11.1.2) and later.

License Management

Information about your license can be found in the License Management dialog box in GeoStudio.

• In GeoStudio 2022.1 and later:
  • this is accessed via the User Profile menu (located at the top right of the application menu bar).
    
  • you can also switch between license methods in the User Profile menu.
• In GeoStudio 2021.4 and earlier, this is accessed via the Help menu.
  

Bentley SES Licenses

If you access GeoStudio licenses through Bentley SES, use this method.

• Launch GeoStudio.
• Ensure you are signed in to the Bentley CONNECTION Client with your account.
• Under the User Profile menu, navigate to the 'License Management' menu option.
  
• The License Management dialog will display available GeoStudio Tiers.
• At this time, Bentley SES licenses in GeoStudio do not have a separate serial number.
• Providing a screen capture of the License Management dialog box is sufficient for technical support purposes.

FlexNet Licenses

If you have a perpetual or subscription to GeoStudio using FlexNet, use this method.

Find FlexNet Licenses Using GeoStudio

• Launch GeoStudio. 
• Navigate to the 'License Management' menu option.
• Select 'Available Licenses' from the pane on the left. 
• The License Management dialog box will display a list of all your available licenses

FlexNet USB Dongle Licenses

• Attach the dongle to an open USB Port. 
• Launch GeoStudio.
• Choose the 'Help' | 'License Management' menu option.
• Select 'Local Settings' from the pane on the left
• Some of the Host ID's returned will be devices like your network card.  These are not associated with your license. 
• The ones you are looking for are the Host IDs that begin with FLEXID.
  * We have provided an online tool to provide you with details about your license.  You will need to know the license serial number.  For convenience, you can copy your serial number directly from the license management dialog box.

View FlexNet License Information Online

To view information about your FlexNet license, paste your serial number in our license information utility at the following link:

GeoStudio License Information Retrieval

This utility will return the following information* about your license:

• License features.
• Serial number.
• Security type.
• Activation status.
• Returns remaining.
• License posting date.
• License expiration date.
• Software maintenance date.

*Not all types of information apply to all types of licenses.

Seequent ID Licenses

If you have a subscription to GeoStudio using MySeequent, use this method.

Find Seequent ID Licenses Using MySeequent

• Log in to the My Seequent portal.
• Select 'Subscriptions' from the pane on the left.
• The My Subscriptions page will list all of your available subscriptions:

• Ensure you are signed in to your Seequent ID account.
• Navigate to the 'License Management' menu option.
• Select 'Available Licenses' from the pane on the left.
• The License Management dialog box will display a list of all your available licenses.
