Download GeoMedic
Since we make periodic updates to the GeoMedic program, we always recommend that you download the latest version from the following link:
Before You Start
- GeoMedic does not "install" on your computer. It is a self-extracting program that deletes itself after it runs.
- It is best to run GeoMedic using an account with full administrator rights.
- GeoMedic attempts to communicate with any GEOSLOPE lmadmin license managers that may be present on your network.
- If your computer has a problem with licensing or connecting to your license server, GeoMedic may take a long time to finish running.
- When encountering these problems, it is not uncommon for GeoMedic to display the "Not Responding" notification in the title bar.
- If GeoMedic enters this state, please allow it to finish running in its own time.
What is GeoMedic?
- GeoMedic is a tool used in troubleshooting technical problems you may experience when using GeoStudio.
- GeoMedic gathers information about your computer configuration and any GeoStudio related software installed on it.
- The information GeoMedic collects is recorded as XML in plain text. This information is displayed in the text window at the bottom of the GeoMedic user interface.
- After GeoMedic has finished running, it prompts you to save the information in a text file. We append the .geomedic extension to the file, but there is nothing special about it. You can open it in any text editor.
Running GeoMedic
To generate a GeoMedic diagnostic report:
- If you have GeoStudio USB dongle licenses, attach these to your computer before running GeoMedic.
- Run the GeoMedic executable that you downloaded from the link above.
- Follow the instructions in GeoMedic.
- Save the output file when prompted.
- Attach the GeoMedic diagnostic report to your support case or support email.
