This article provides guidance on resolving the "Could not locate style.xml" error encountered in OpenPlant Isometrics Manager when configurations are sourced from OneDrive, ProjectWise, or other external/cloud-synced drives.
When generating isometrics in OpenPlant Isometrics Manager, users may encounter the following error: "Could not locate style.xml"
This issue typically occurs when the configuration is stored in OneDrive or ProjectWise drive.
Below are three workarounds that have been effective in resolving this issue.
Workaround 1: Use Open Plant Project Administrator to Create a New Copy of the WorkSet
1. Open OpenPlant Project Administrator.
2. Create a new copy of the existing WorkSet.
3. Ensure the new WorkSet is saved locally (not on OneDrive or ProjectWise).
4. Open OPIM and attempt to generate the isometric again.
Workaround 2: Delete or Rebuild the Config Folder
Navigate to the following path:
C:\ProgramData\Bentley\OpenPlant CONNECT Edition\Configuration\WorkSpaces\OpenPlantExample\WorkSets\Metric\Standards\OpenPlant\Isometrics\styles\config
Delete the 'config' folder entirely. Optionally, copy the folder structure of a working style from another configuration into this 'config' folder.
Relaunch OPIM and verify if the error is resolved.
Workaround 3: Replace style.xml with a Valid UTF-16 Encoded File
1. Locate a working style.xml file from another configuration.
2. Open it in Notepad++ and confirm it uses UTF-16 encoding (check the first line).
3. Copy this file into the required style configuration folder.
4. Open the original style.xml from the required style and copy its data content.
5. Paste this content into the UTF-16 encoded file.
6. Replace the original file (keep a backup if needed).
7. Relaunch OpenPlant Modeler. Attempt to generate the isometric again.
