Boundary Line Object encloses and object with boundaries based on depth top and depth base fields. This is usually used in conjunction with another object such as range data text to create boundaries around this item.
Boundary lines object has improved clash detection and will expand/bend to cater for the data being referenced. Below is an example showing the same data presented with different setups;
Left column: Boundaries set up using Straight line objects, will not readjust based on text length.
Right column: Boundaries set up using Boundary Line objects, will adjust based on text length.
Boundary lines have been developed to work with “Range Data Text” or “Point Data Text” objects . In general, if your data is applicable over a depth range, we would recommend using "Range Data Text", if your data is considered applicable for a point depth, we would recommend adopting "Point Data Text".
Example of how to implement boundary lines this in template studio is shown below.
Text Alignments
Data display/positioning can be further customised by altering the text alignment of the individual objects within the design tool bar.
It is worth noting that the boundary line behaviour will change depending on if you are using "Point Data Text" or "Range Data Text".
If "Point Data Text" and "Boundary Line" occupy the same depth, text alignment will then be used to determine how the text should display. The below examples show how point data will interact with boundary lines. This has been implemented the same way as the example above using "Point Data Text" to display the depth data.
If alternatively, you are using "Range Data Text" objects to display the depth values. The display will be similar to the image below. Altering the text alignements will only adjust how the information presents within the bounds of the boundary lines.
