Problem:

Given the following pipe arrangement: Bend - Pipe - Pipe - Bend. Note the pipe node point B60 is in between the far point of the first bend and the near point of the next bend. Bend 55 is 3" pipe, while Bend 65 is a 2" pipe. Exactly at node point B60 the pipe sizes changes from 3" to 2"

While using AutoPIPE 23.00.01.367, the input grids and report indicates the following:

Is this correct?

Solution:

The grids are correct, however the report is wrong. 

This had already been logged and fixed in AutoPIPE 24.00.02.243. Notice that the report indicates from B55 to B60 is now 3" instead of 2".

With regards to the grids, the Press/Temp/PIPEId tab details every node point including Bend Near and Far points to correctly assign temperature and pressure related information. However, the Points tab just indicates the distance between the points, while ignoring bend Near and Far points. On the Points tab, size is taken from the down stream face of the "To" node point. This was the intent when designing the Points grids. 

 Suggest upgrading to the newer version to avoid known issue.
