Problem Description
Which file controls what bolt style to be selected in the Bolt dialog? How can share it with my coworkers?
Steps to resolve
Enter methods to resolve in this section.
The below path is the default location for the Bolt Styles defined by the Configuration Variable PS_BOLTINGASSEMBLIES. Here, you can find the PsBoltList.bls file where all these styles are defined.
Path: C:\ProgramData\Bentley\ProStructures 20xx\Configuration\WorkSpaces\<WorkSpaceName>\Standards\ProStructures\MechanicalFasteners\Bolts
When you delete the bolt styles from the dialog then these entries from PsBoltList.bls file does not automatically delete. Hence, when we click on the Reload button it appears again in the dialog.
After deleting your unwanted styles then close the dialog and use Key-in ProStructure Rebuild then number 20 and then number 5 to delete these entries from the BLS file which will then does not appear in the dialog.
This step you can also perform out of the program by opening the PsBoltList.bls file in Notepad and manually delete unwanted entries, here please make sure to enter the correct count number.
Once you updated the BLS file as desired then you can backup or move or delete the unwanted bolt style files (BSY) from the above-mentioned default location.
If you have updated the BLS file manually, then restart the program.
To share with your co-workers, you can make a zip of all the bolt styles (BSY) along with BLS file (in short, all the files under Bolts folder). Then they can make backup of their bolt styles and delete all the files under the Bolts folder and then can unzip your shared files to use it further.
