Script Execution

Product(s):

OpenRoads, OpenRail, OpenSite

Version(s):

2024+

Area:

Reports

Problem:

When attempting to use the Reports command to generate a report that requires XSLT Script Execution a message is presented stating “.xsl was trying to execute a script. This might impose a severe security threat. Script execution is disabled by default, to enable script execution, please refer to the documentation.”

Solution:

For added security, the OpenCivil 2024 products block XSLT Script Execution by default. However, if it is desired to run XSL Reports that contain scripts from trusted sources, then a Windows system environment variable must be defined.

XsltEnableScript=TRUE

To enable this as a Windows system environment variable, navigate to Settings -> System -> Advanced system settings. Here, under the Advanced ribbon, select Environment Variables... and add the variable above.
