We're excited to share the updates and enhancements to OpenFlows WaterSight published on 19th March 2025, related with alert trigger configurations:
Now it is possible to test different alert triggers configurations for any historical data period for any sensor, zone or smart meter, before enabling the real automatic alert generation in the application. The user can adjust trigger configurations and easily understand and visualize the events that could have been generated for those conditions, and with this easily refine each trigger in order to optimize alert generation and minimize false positives. The trigger preview configurations are only accessible to admin users. More information on roles and permissions can be found here - Managing Users and Roles.
To access the Trigger Preview functionality the user should go to the Administration menu, to the Simple Trigger tab, create or edit a new trigger. Once a trigger is selected, the user should click on the "Trigger Preview" button that gets displayed on the side panel.
The Trigger Previews is only available at the moment for Simple Triggers. More information about the Trigger Preview can be found here - Alerts Administration, under the Trigger Preview section.
It is now possible for the pattern type alert to define a percentage threshold. The percentage threshold corresponds to the increase in the pattern bands width or the pattern buffer (difference between the percentile 95 or 5 and the percentile 50 of the time series). For example a percentage threshold of 100% means that the pattern band width (grey bands) will duplicate. In order for a pattern type trigger to be generated based on percentage threshold, the following conditions should be met:
This option is also available for the combined triggers. More information can be found here - Alerts Administration, under the Pattern type section.
It is now possible to filter triggers by the sensors or zones or large customers assigned to it, even if a trigger has more than one sensor associated. This is done by clicking in the filter buton located on the header of the second column (sensors/zones).
