This release is an update to version STAAD Foundation Advanced 2024 (24.00.00). Please refer to the STAAD Foundation Advanced 2024 Release Notes for more information on program changes included in the initial 2024 release. Additionally, please consult the Read Me document to know more about the overall capabilities within this release.
Download and Installation Instructions
Installation files for current and past STAAD Foundation Advanced releases can be downloaded from the Bentley Software Download page. After signing-in, the STAAD Foundation Advanced installers can be located by selecting STAAD in the Brand menu and clicking Apply or searching for STAAD Foundation in the Product Search box.
This version of STAAD Foundation Advanced can also be installed through the CONNECTION Client update service or through the Structural WorkSuite Hub.
This version of STAAD Foundation Advanced can be installed concurrently with the previous version. However, it cannot be installed simultaneously with the previous update (v24.00.00). The bundled SFA V9 installer is an update of version 9 and installing this version will automatically uninstall any previous versions.

New Feature
STAAD Foundation Advanced 2024 includes the following new feature.
Isolated and Combined Foundation Design (IS 456: 2000)
Isolated and combined foundations can now be designed according to IS 456:2000. Previously, isolated and combined footings could only be designed to ACI 318 design codes.
Enhancements and Other Changes
STAAD Foundation Advanced 2024 includes the enhancements and minor changes mentioned below.
- An Always Provide Top Rebar property has been added to the design criteria for ACI isolated foundation. When set to True, top reinforcement is designed even if not required by code. When set to False, top reinforcement is only designed when tension occurs on the top face of the foundation.
- Load transfer check for concrete bearing capacity has been added for IS 456:2000 mat foundation design.
- The default punching shear radius for IS 456:2000 mat foundation design is now d/2 to reflect the typical punching shear perimeter location.
- Pedestal dimensions are now restricted to a minimum of 150 mm or 6 inches and a maximum of 5000 mm or 200 inches.
- A results summary table presenting the status, demand and capacity data of the post analysis and design checks is now available.
Defect Corrections
- The post analysis check was reported multiple times in certain cases.
- Post analysis checks were not saved for pile supported mat foundation models.
- Design criteria changes cleared all design results. Now only the design results associated with the changed design criteria are erased.
- Incorrect soil bearing capacities were reported in foundation design reports in certain cases.
- The Glossary section in foundation design report was incomplete.
- An incorrect design status was reported for IS 456 2000 punching shear checks for mat foundations in certain cases.
- Bearing areas were reported incorrectly for ACI 318-14 load transfer check for isolated foundations in certain cases.
- For ACI punching shear checks, limiting value of sqrt(fc’) was not reported in design reports. This was a reporting issue only and did not affect the punching shear capacity calculation.
