Problem:

 

There is a requirement of placing curved beams. How do I achieve that on OpenBuildings Designer?

 

Solution:

 

For placing a curved beam, please follow the steps mentioned below:

 

1. On OpenBuildings Designer, go to Building Design > Structural > Structural Elements > Steel Beam. You can also choose Concrete Beam, Timber Plate etc. as per your requirements.

 

2. Once you've chosen which beam to place (for example Steel Beam), the Place Beam tool opens and Placement Options become available on the ribbon.

From the 'Place by' drop down menu choose 'Select Path' option.

 

 

3. Follow the prompt and select the path along which you want to place the beam. The path has to be placed before placing the beam.

 

Thus, the beam can be placed along a curved path.
