Software Verification Test Systems

The Bentley AutoPIPE Acceptance Test Set (ATS) provides the user with a recommended procedure for validating the integrity of the installed AutoPIPE 23.00.01.367 program.

Prior to any commercial or Quality Assured release, the accuracy of the AutoPIPE program is verified by the execution of Alpha Tests. These Alpha Tests consist of a matrix of test systems designed to capture key feature attributes related to numeric and functional processing. Each set of test outputs is compared to a prepared set of expected results (i.e. hand calculations, some other well-established computer program, etc.), and evaluated for acceptance.

The Acceptance Test Set includes input files and full documentation covering a sampling of test systems and results documented from the Alpha Tests.

System Requirements

The following prerequisites are required to run the Acceptance Test Set for Bentley AutoPIPE:
  AutoPIPE
A fully authorized copy of AutoPIPE Version 12.04.00.14 must be installed on your system prior to installing the ATS system files.
  Processor
Intel Pentium IV or higher
  Operating Systems

§  Microsoft Windows 10 x64 Professional or higher

§  Microsoft Windows 11 x64 Professional or higher 

 
Memory
4 GB recommended. More memory almost always improves performance, particularly when working with larger models.
Hard Disk
1 GB free disk space (not including Restore Point space requirements). 
Input Device
Any industry-standard input device supported by Microsoft Windows.
Output Device
Any industry-standard output device supported by Microsoft Windows.
  PDF Reader
Adobe® Acrobat Reader 7.0 or greater.
 

Installation Help

Before you install the Acceptance Test Set files, you should confirm that you have adequate hardware and software capabilities to execute the test samples.
 

1.       Locate and run the QAAcceptanceTestSetx64.msi to initiate the installation process. The setup program will guide you step-by-step to install the contents to the hard disk. 

 

2.       The default destination directory is "C:\Bentley\AutoPIPE 2023 QAR ATS". 

 

3.       The input files will be placed in the specified destination and the previously verified output files(benchmark) will be placed in a directory named “OUT” located in the destination directory.

 

4.       Once all the files have been installed, the setup program will display the final dialog. An icon will be added to the program group allowing you to review this file at a later time.

 

5.       Select “Finish” to complete the installation.

QA Reporting Notices

The "Acceptance Test Set" document number which corresponds to this release is:

Error reports are available with client participation in the "QA & Reporting" services. Monthly error reports, open error summary lists, and details of errors corrected through respective software releases are posted as PDF or spreadsheet documents to a private QA&R Community under the Bentley Communities website: http://communities.bentley.com/.

Note: The old error reports page will cease to exist under http://selectservices.bentley.com/en-US/.

Frequently asked questions

Question 1: How do I get access to the QA&R error reports?

Answer: QA&R error reports are available on a private QA&R Community under the Bentley Communities website: http://communities.bentley.com/. QA&R subscription is required to access the QA&R error reports.

Question 2: My organization has QA&R subscription. Why I cannot access the QA&R error reports?

Answer: Access to QA&R error reports is available to the person(s) nominated to receive monthly error report notifications, by respective organizations, as listed on form 6-1-2: Contact Personnel for "QA & Reporting" Subscriptions.

 

Instructions

Notes for automated validation runs:
  1. The printer configuration for the "number of lines per page" must be set to ninety-three (93).
  2. Below given instructions/comments should be considered before executing the test runs:
    • AutoPIPE QAR 23.00.01.367 build must be installed before installing the ATS.
    • Desired AutoPIPE edition should be selected before execution of the ATS.
    • In order to execute the ATS for a different AutoPIPE edition, ATS application must be closed and restarted.
    • Before executing the ATS, copy all the models and their dependent files (as mentioned in 'ap_ats.pdf') to a separate location on your machine.
    • For each AutoPIPE edition use a clean set of models by copying back from the location where they were previously saved, as mentioned above.
