| What is New & Changed in AutoPIPE® |
The following outline identifies new features and enhancements in the AutoPIPE 2024 (24.00.02.243).
- Piping Codes
- Added ASME NB Nuclear 2023 - Class 1 Components. This edition of ASME NB Nuclear has revised the properties for some materials which are now available in the latest material library ASME2023.
- Added ASME NCD Nuclear 2023 - Class 2 & 3 Components. This edition of ASME NCD Nuclear has revised the properties for some materials which are now available in the latest material library ASME2023.
- Added 2023 edition for ASME B31J. This edition updates numerous stress intensification factors and flexibility factors. General notes and component specific notes are also updated.
- Modeling
- AutoPIPE models can now be saved as templates which can then be used to define new models. Templates can store pipe properties, loadings, and other model related information.
- Reports
- Input Listing Reports can now be limited to report the selected points in the model only. Earlier, this option only worked with output reports.
- Import/Export
- Replaced MS Access based MDB file reading and writing with SQLite.
- Analysis
- AutoPIPE Thermal Transient Analysis module now reports negative Delta T2 values, which were earlier reset to zero.
- Security Release Notes
- Updated OidcAuthentication package to resolve security vulnerability (CVE-2024-43485).

Network Considerations - Network drives are only supported for data files.
- AutoPIPE software must be installed on a local client workstation.
- AutoPIPE data files (*.DAT) must have full read/write access to be opened and edited.

| Error History |
The following outline identifies all major errors fixed in Release of AutoPIPE v24.0.1.
- Defect 1437177: ASME Flange Analysis: Incorrect dimensions in Flange Dimensions Library may lead to unconservative stress results
- The Flange Dimensions Library contains incorrect flange and gasket dimensions. Stresses calculated using the incorrect dimensions will be lower than those calculated using the correct dimensions, leading to unconservative results.
- Defect 1509478: Flange Analysis: Incorrect DIN and JIS flange dimensions may lead to unconservative stress results for Non-QA codes
- The Flange Dimensions Library contains incorrect dimensions for DIN and JIS flanges. Stresses calculated using the incorrect dimensions will be lower than those calculated using the correct dimensions, leading to unconservative results.
- Defect 1511714: ASME NM2: Axial stress produced by the axial force may be incorrectly added to longitudinal pressure stress
- ASME NM-2 longitudinal stress calculations require adding the stress due to axial force to the longitudinal pressure stress. The axial stress produced by the axial force in the pipe gets added or subtracted to longitudinal pressure stress depending on whether the axial force is tensile or compressive. When calculating longitudinal stress, program incorrectly subtracts axial stress due to tensile force from the longitudinal pressure stress. This results in reporting a lower longitudinal stress than the correct longitudinal stress leading to unconservative results.
- Defect 1488126: Incorrect Forces and Moments results for SAM cases for models with B31J enabled
- AutoPIPE may incorrectly apply B31J tee flexibilities to the solution when performing Seismic Anchor Movement analysis for models with B31J enabled. This applies to all SAM cases except SAM case 1, which is calculated correctly. Note that AutoPIPE currently does not support ASME B31J flexibilities for SAM analysis . Incorrectly applying B31J tee flexibilities partially for SAM analysis may result in reporting a lower Forces and Moments for impacted SAM cases, leading to unconservative stress results.
- Defect 1536259: Changing support type from spring or constant force to another support using the input grid may not ignore cold load
- AutoPIPE allows designers the ability to cold- or pre-load springs or constant force support as a load applied to the pipe prior to the start of operating cycle. This is done by selecting either "Spring" or "Constant" as the support type, marking the support as designed, and entering the cold load force. When changing this designed support to either inclined, vstop, rotation, or tie/link via the input grid, AutoPIPE analysis will continue to apply this cold load on the pipe without user knowledge. These supports do not normally allow for cold loading.
- Defect 1537139: API 610 Pumps: Vertical non-in-line pumps may pass despite nozzle loads exceeding the allowable loads
- The API 610 standard, Annex F section F.2, states that vertical in-line pumps can be subjected to nozzle loads that are more than double the allowable values if these loads do not cause a principal stress greater than 41 N/mm2 (5950 psi). This criterion is only applicable on vertical in-line pumps, but the program applies it to all vertical pumps leading to incorrect pump designs being falsely reported as passed and excessive nozzle loads being overlooked.
- Defect 1411698: OPIM Interop: Stress Isometrics (DWG/DXF/2D-DGN) not generated for latest version of OPIM v10.11.01.136
- AutoPIPE v24.0 and v23.0 are unable to generate DWG/DXF/2d DGN stress isometric files (via File > Isometric > Save Stress Isometric) when OPIM v10.11.01.136 is installed.
- Defect 1538817: Security Vulnerability (CVE-2024-43485): Update OidcAuthentication
- The OidcAuthentication module is updated to latest version to resolve the CVE-2024-43485.
- Defect 1574832: ASME B31J: AutoPIPE may not use note 3 to calculate bend flexibility factor if the bend contains a midpoint along the bend centerline
- The ASME B31J Note 3 provides an equation, to calculate the bend flexibility, which may be used if a bend meets the criteria provided in the note. This note is implemented in AutoPIPE in the form of the "Use ASME B31J Note 3" checkbox. If this checkbox is checked the program evaluates if a bend meets the criteria provided in Note 3 and then uses the equation in Note 3 to calculate its flexibility. However, if a Midpoint has been specified on the bend, the program will not use the equation provided in Note 3 even if the "Use ASME B31J Note 3" checkbox is checked and the bend meets the criteria.
